Our Story

Washington Pentecostal Assembly

Washington Pentecostal Assembly (WPA) is a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered congregation located at 4318 Baltimore Ave, Bladensburg, Maryland — serving the greater Washington DC metro area with the love and power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

From humble beginnings, WPA has grown into a vibrant multi-generational church family committed to worship, prayer, discipleship, and community. We are proud to be a congregation where the wisdom of the gray-haired and the wits of the youth come together in unity, respect, and love.

Under the leadership of Sr. Pastor James Mulavana (Jaimson Babu), WPA continues to reach new souls, baptize new believers, and grow the body of Christ across the DC-Maryland-Virginia region. We believe every person who finds us has been brought here not by chance, but by God's great plan and purpose for their life.

What We Believe

1

The Trinity

One God eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

2

Holy Scripture

The Scripture of the Old and New Testaments is given by inspiration of God, inerrant and infallible in its original writings.

3

Salvation

Salvation comes through God's grace via repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ alone.

4

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as the initial, physical evidence of receiving the Spirit's power.

5

Water Baptism

Water baptism by immersion is practiced as an outward sign of an inward transformation.

6

The Church

The Church comprises all born-again believers as the body of Christ, called to worship, fellowship, and mission.

7

Heaven & Hell

Heaven is God's dwelling place and the eternal home of believers. Hell is eternal separation from God.

8

Holiness

Sanctification is God's will for every believer, pursued through obedience to Scripture and surrender to the Holy Spirit.

9

The Second Coming

We believe in the personal, imminent return of Jesus Christ for His Church.

10

Total Depravity of Man

Humanity was separated from God through sin. Spiritual rebirth through the Holy Spirit is necessary for reconciliation with God.
